You know it is Valentine’s Day when…
You spent yesterday with one assistant in a tutu…
and the other smeared in chocolate…
And in the late hours of the evening you have 60 signed cards, two batches of brownies, two batches of krispy treats, and one half eaten birthday cake to show for your efforts.
Because Daddy’s b-day is always Valentine’s Eve.
Then the day of, when it’s time to pack everyone off with their corresponding loot.
This random picture shot by your three year old turns out far more interesting than your attempts to document anything.
Including your last minute effort to put your cookie cutters to good use on dinner.
AKA heart shaped grilled cheese.

Looks like a pretty good day to me! I was at work all day & then spent the evening at home with my husband & the kids… nothing special but still nice.

Heart shaped grilled cheese rocks! Gotta try that. I’ve done it for dry sandwiches, but hadn’t thought of those (probably b/c my weird children tend not to eat them. It’s like we’re not even related). And my middle girl takes the BEST photos of her brother. The best.

We did our celebrating on MOnday, so Valentine’s day was really low key. I didn’t make a special breakfast or dinner or anything. My poor kids. :)

I just cannot get over how cute they are! The first photo — the tutu was priceless! The West Indian Mother (my mother) a.k.a. Reds, is a baker, and I have licked many a mixing bowl, spoon and any type of utensil she’d used to make magic. Ah, the good old days — and I probably looked just like the photo! LOL Before long, the youngest one will be right in the middle of the action. Valentine’s Day — terrific.
