Mama’s guide to summer

10 Comments 07 July 2011

When it is hot, you’re so pregnant you can hardly see your own swollen toes, and the kids are itching to be entertained, having a summer survival strategy is a must.

So, what’s a mama to do when all she really wants to do is lie in an air-conditioned room and sip margaritas decaf ice tea, but reality has her chasing three crazies?

Number one. Let them clean the house for you.

Number two. Loosen up the rules on nutrition as often as necessary once in a while.

Number three. Put their lives in someone else’s hands, i.e. swimming lessons.

Number four. Let them break a few rules. Someone else’s of course.

Number five. Let them take up photography. Even if it is at your own expense.

So, what do you plan to do to survive with the kids this summer?

My kids are older, but it’s still a challenge to drag them away from their electronic drugs (tv, pc, psp, nintendo, wii)! Luckily we live on the sea, so going to the beach takes up part of each day.

  8. can you send your cleaning crew to our place! i see they do windows. :)
