The last eighteen hours of my life have not exactly gone according to plan…

Not in a major earth-shattering way.

But nonetheless off putting.

See, I fell asleep last night trying to get the baby to sleep.

In my clothes.

Before I made the lunches, laid out the clothes and found the backpacks.

So, I roll out of bed this morning without time to change.

Attack all the getting out the door on time chores that I missed last night.

Then, the house keeper came and her first discovery was that the dryer does not work.

It worked last night.

But today, no heat.

Ok, find the closest laundromat and run the already washed and wet sheets over.

Discover the dryers are freaking huge and get this strange idea that I could really get something done if I get some more.

Start planning trips back and forth throughout the morning to take advantage of the dryers that could practically tumble dry a PRIUS.

Turns out to be WAY more work than I anticipated.

Baby gets sick of driving around.

Twins are hungry when picked up from preschool and don’t want to sit in the car while I check the dryers.

Trip for nuggets cures that but further aggravates the baby.

Finally give up on dryers and the novelty of huge productive appliances.

Not before mistakenly picking up an old lady’s wet (but clean) thong.

And come home to a lost cell phone.

Which it would seem could be cured by a quick call from my home phone.

Had it not been mysteriously out of order again…

And all I had wanted to do today was unpack boxes.
