Happy walk to school day!

Dear Ms. Elementary School Principal Lady,
I am a bit freaked out by the complete lack of regard for safety and fire codes concerned with how I dropped my son off for school this morning.
See, we walked to school, despite the rain downpour just to try and be spirited members the school community for the walk to school day celebration. With three year old twins in a double stroller. And the newborn in the Ergo carrier with a low grade fever from a cold and yesterdays round of inoculations.
Only to find a complete mess huge crowd at the door of an overcrowded school built for a quarter of the bodies trying to fill it at that moment while you stood out on the front lawn beneath a pink umbrella and no information on how the kids were to find their classes. This was especially concerning because the access ramps were blocked by a speaker system playing marginally appropriate music. Which I’m pretty sure is a fire code and handicap access violation not to mention a complete pain in the ass when it comes to trying to transport two squirmy preschoolers in the rain left me with no choice but to tell my five year old son to walk into the auditorium alone and try to find his class in the midst of a huge crowd of strangers including creeps dressed as Power Rangers, and more than a little sketchy looking media personnel. Considering the level of security that is usually exercised by your school, this is more than a bit surprising.
Additionally, I just called the school to see if he did indeed avoid abduction by aliens, kidnappers, and or Power Rangers whose background check would surely surprise us all make it to his class only to be told they are on their way to computers and I should call back in an hour. That is not an acceptable answer when I do not know where my child is.

Sincerely,

Mad Multiplemama

PS Happy walk to school (in the rain with four kids) day.

Wow! Sounds like alot of chaos! The oldest children always have to grow up the quickest, I guess. Halloween party day or some sort of media event? Either way, sounds like they didn’t plan too well. Hey- thanks for stopping by my blog. Always appreciated!

Whoa. I hope this is a one-off incident and that they will somehow be a lot more organized in the future.
