Cyber Space meets real estate

Cyber Space meets real estate

It really goes without saying that Google and Yahoo have pretty much changed the way we look at everything these days.

So, as we are knee deep in our real estate journey. Or in other words, our efforts to find a bigger house than can handle all the little lives we have in our care. It is hard to imagine how this worked before the advent of the worldwide web. With online searches, emailed documents, virtual tours, and automated listing updates. Real estate is very much a virtual world.

On a less professional note the worldwide web even makes it easier to stalk research information on just about anyone. (Not that I would ever do such a thing) Including the names that appear on offers and counter offers.

Having someone’s first and last name on a google search is almost as good as having their resume in your hand. (Again, not that I would know) But you may find out where they work, where they live, or if they have a BLOG!

Yes, as I was lying awake and nursing sometime around four this morning I realized this.

Soooo, if you find yourself here as the result of a little curiosity mixed with an offer on your house and a quick Google search. Well, welcome to my humble corner of the world. As you can see you have found all of my cards on the table. The laundry is not folded let alone put away, and dishes are never officially “done.” Besides that, you now know more about the sassy pants lady that wants to buy your house than most people know about their next-door neighbors.

But, before you dig any deeper and find out just how sassy I can be in a nut shell. I currently type this blog, when I can, with one hand. Because I have a baby in the other.

A baby that needs a closet for her clothes which are currently stacked in laundry baskets in the hallway. I know, it is not the biggest disaster ever. But, what girl doesn’t need a closet? Let alone a bedroom.

Oh did I not mention that yet? Yes, this baby is number four. And we are currently moving out of our two bedroom house. And escrow should be closing any day now. So, the sooner you accept our offer the less time we will have to spend as a displaced family of six.

Additionally, please know we have genuinely offered you as much money for your lovely home as we can afford. In ten years time I’m going to have two teenage boys to feed. And any income that is left over at the end of the day is going into a high yield account to help us cope with that phenomenon.

Other than that, if you are not here as a snooper but as a lovely reader feel free to join me in saying a prayer to the Short-Sale gods. We could use all the help we can get.

Thanks!

    OHMYGOD she is gorgeous! :)
And I feel your pain kinda sorta. Moving about killed me this year; we were displaced for 11 days, never 100% sure that we were going to close on the new place until three days before. Good times, good times.
Best of luck to you! It will all soon be a distant nightmare…

  2. We were displaced for 2 months during our “double move” to our foreclosure purchase last year. Those two months with 7 people in a temporary 3 bedroom apt was… snug. But it was better than forcing my folks to deal with being exponentially outnumbered by guests who might smell worse than unfrigerated dead fish after 3 days, right? love my folks… and they love me… but there was a reason we all move out as young adults!

May the short sale gods smile down upon all the cuteness in your home. And I pray you find some other solution for your temporarily unhoused family…other than the beautiful 3-bedroom appt in ghetto-ass Wilmington which we enjoyed for our short stay last summer!

  3. Good luck! Buying a home is one of the most stressful experiences. We just refinanced and that even stressed me out a bit! Here’s to hoping your darling family of 6 is not displaced.
