Just when I thought I had re-figured things out again.
As in reinvented the baby’s nap schedule so as to accommodate everyone else’s pick up and drop off routine.
I know it is a pretty obscure photo of my little boy nervously sitting in the Doctor’s office awaiting a prognosis on his split chin and loose tooth.
A direct result of falling on an ordinary everyday playground structure step in preschool.
But this is best picture I had the heart to take. I just couldn’t swallow asking him to smile, grimace, or otherwise acknowledge a camera at this moment. Asking him to say cheese, while the possibility of being held down so some stranger can sew his face back together? No.
The good news is a little glue on the chin and an x-ray for the tooth was all he needed for a clean bill of health.
However the stress of trying to reach necessary back-up in order to keep the other three in good hands while I ran between dental and medical offices?
Well, all I can say is thank GOD for cell phones and good friends!
What a reminder of just how much I DO manage in a day. It took three other adults to step in for me.
And as for me. Well ultimately, all I needed at the end of the day was two glasses of Chardonnay.
How does your schedule handle the unexpected?
